Education

The official policy of The People’s Republic of China in Tibet is the development of the party’s, and state administration and to build an infrastructure for Chinese settlements. Tibetans and their needs are systematically neglected. Most affected by this damaging policy are rural and pastoral regions of Tibet, where inhabitants (mostly illiterates) are doomed to lead the life of third-rate citizens. They often find that to “improve” their lives they have to become poachers or prostitutes.
As the result of this policy, one of the biggest problems faced by Tibetan people is the lack of any future prospects. They are, on a daily basis, confronted by such problems as loosing their national identity, absence of any influence over the Chinese power in Tibet, being pushed out of the job market and very fast becoming a minority in their own country. The one and only chance for them to gain any form of employment is if we help to provide the missing education and occupational training. Due to obvious reasons, we cannot share with the public the names of schools we support or their founders. We do not want their fates to be similar to those of Tulek Tenzin Delka or Bangri Camtrul Rinpocze – Buddhist teachers and social activists- who are imprisoned by the Chinese for life. Schools and orphanages created by them are closed and the situation of the children, who used to live there, is tragic. Most of them now live on the streets.

Not without cause, the Dalai Lama called children “the seeds of the future”. You can help them to become just that by donating your money to the “chosen” school in Tibet. We can sincerely guarantee that any money given to us will go to the school in need. At any time, we can present as detailed as possible accounts of where and how your donation will be spent. We will do all we can to substantiate development of our “chosen” school. Our school is located in the Tibetan region joined to one of the provinces of China.

Benchen Free Clinic

Benchen Monastery Free Clinic is situated within the Benchen Monastery in Katmandu.
The Clinic was founded in 1994 by the great Buddhist teacher and abbot Tenga Rinpoche in order to give medical assistance to the local population. This medical assistance is financed by the Monastery's budget and sponsors. An enormous demand for this assistance made the Monastery contact the Himalayan Medical Foundation. Co-operation has been started, and now the Foundation covers most of the costs of medicaments.

In 1998 in Poland Tenga Rinpoche met Wojciech Ryncerz, who cooperated with the Tibetan Delek Hospital in Dharamsala, and as a result in 1999 the Benchen Clicnic was equipped with a dentistry unit, medicaments and the like. Since that moment the Clinic has been offering its patients dental service as well. At the moment the Clinic is the only institution that provides a mobile dentistry unit as well, which makes possible to reach everybody (the only requirement is electric current).

In order to ensure the proper functioning of the Clinic it is necessary to have a continuous financial inflow. All received resources are used properly and wisely. It is Tenga Rinpoche and Sangje Niempa Rinpoche who take personal responsibility over the whole project; the site is supervised by Sherab Wangchuk . Wojciech Ryncarz is responsible for the medical work of the clinic.

Our dream is to purchase an all-terrain car equipped in current generator, thanks to which it would be possible work even in far-away villages situated high in the mountains. Money donated via the sub-account is entirely dedicated to the operation of the Clinic.
